Pros

Good money, nice equipment, good people, work outdoors, travel... it's the pipeline DEI is not a thing, you either can do your job or you cant, doesn't matter what you look like (age, race, gender, ect), if you're capable of doing the job you were hired to do you will be paid the same as everyone else doing that job. They do not "look to hire minorities" but there are plenty of "minorities" on the job in all types of positions. Ironically, high paying blue collar work brings in employees from a pretty diverse group of people. Women make the same as men in the same position and no one cares who you sleep with at night as long as you show up on time and do your job right. Thats pipeline DEI. Worked on multiple jobs in multiple states always for the same spread starting in 2007. Not continuous employment, its the pipeline, getting laid off is when you go home.

Cons

Pipeline is a lifestyle... if you really want to do it you will be a nomad, 200+ days away from home at a time. You live out of a duffel bag in your truck... hotels, campers, short term rentals, gas station breakfasts, cold lunch, something on the grill on your tailgate for supper or bar food. (All can be also viewed as "pros", but are generally considered "cons" by people who are not pipeliners)
