Pros

Different country's everyday, great working environment and multi cultural employees to work with. The food on board is very good for high ranking officers as well as benefits such as use of pools and the gym etc.

Cons

Being away for long periods of time, most contracts range from 4 months to 9 months at sea with very little time off. No overtime is paid for, which is pretty much everyday.

Pros

You get to see a lot of different ports; you don't have to worry about food or paying for your room and board. You get to meet varies people from around the world.

Cons

The pay is not the best for people living in the USA. The job is still enjoyable, and the experience is worth it but this is better as a fresh out of high school or college type of role, or in a sense a way to "backpack through Europe" kind of job.
