Pros

There are some truly stellar people at PF, and the mission is vital and unique. The physical working environment is good, and the grounds are lovely. The advocacy team, in particular, is amazing. Unique work-based travel opportunities! Good percentage of prior offenders amongst the staff, which helped us all connect to the work on a deeper level. True believers in second chances.

Cons

At the time I was there, the organization was transitioning from founder-centered to mission-focused, and trying to attract a new generation of supporters. The pressure resulted in senior leadership too often conveying weight and disappointment instead of inspiration. For example, upon securing a new, multi-6 figure donation, the comment to me was not "great job!" but, instead, "well, it's a start." Poor bridge-building between the old and the new, both in supporter relationships and employee relationships. At the time, high pressure from HR to post glowing reviews online was disappointing. Poor marks for diversity, although it was acknowledged and there were actions taken to help this. Not very ecumenical - very conservative and evangelical.

Great company with an awesome mission.

Low pay, but that's expected at a non-profit. Great organization!

Pros

3 day work week in prison

Cons

No room for growth. If you are one of the evangelicals you will feel at home
