Pros

- Fully Remote due to job role - Medical/Dental care -Wellbeing days when you can get them

Cons

- Big company culture of micro management. - Large communication problems, every Business Unit treats itself almost as a different company which gives since of entitlement and an ego. Operational Engineers are embarrassing to work with with horrible attitudes and zero communication skills. Spoke too rudely and arrogantly. My 5 year old has better soft skills than 90% of employees. Zero work life balance due to work hours. - Company is detrimental to your health and wellbeing. - The excuse "Start up Company" is used as an excuse for little change but the company has been there for 20 years. - Managers use bully tactics to remove good contributing employees. - There is zero chance of career progression and development. Never heard of anyone getting promoted based on merit. Only based on length of service. - There is a complete lack of sharing the work load, same people doing the bulk of the work. - NOC is not a NOC, it is a glorified office admin role. - Zero feedback is acted upon, changes are never made. - Pay is well below market standards. - Zero Performance scoring or feedback for employees. You can be the laziest employee but still get full bonuses because there is no individual performance. Just a tick box exercise - Promised the world to employees when hiring but it's all fugazi.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed perspective on your experience at Proofpoint. Even when feedback isn't positive, we still appreciate you sharing it and allowing us the opportunity to address it and consider action planning about what we need to improve. As you've shared, there have been a lot of changes this year, including many of the faces on our leadership team. From the top, our CEO is passionate about creating a high-performance culture where everyone is able to bring their best selves to work, be part of driving meaningful work and be recognized for their contributions. We don't take this lightly and are spending a lot of time making sure we put action behind what we say. As part of the changes, we've introduced our first Voice of the Employee Survey as part of our re-direction to continuously provide our team members a place to share their honest feedback. Additionally, reviews just like this are part of our always on listening strategy to make sure you have a place to give us your input and visibility to things we need to action on to improve the employee experience as we grow through change. You've given us a lot to consider in this review and it will be shared for wider visibility and thought, but if you haven't already done so, we hope that you will also complete the survey before it closes as we will be beginning action planning in September and each and every single piece of info we receive will be considered. Thank you again for the review and opportunity to address your perspectives, we appreciate it. -Charlene, Director of Culture and Employer Brand.

Pros

fairly lax with lots of time to do things

Cons

many. Former CEO ran things poorly and took in managers who brought along their problems and animosities with them. Not only that, they were allowed to invite their friends to come and join too, many of them owing their jobs to someone creating a bro culture. Even though top mgmt changed since the sale, its many of these people still there to this day. Most of the systems were a black box, existing engineers were mostly uncooperative to keep their knowledge to themselves, the offshore engineers in one particular country were especially bad for this. I have seen major accomplishments achieved by someone, where so many others had failed, only to get fired soon after.
