Pros

• Very enriching learning experience • You get connected with providers when you work with them enough • Awesome clinical experience • You essentially make your own schedule. It’s the most flexible job I’ve had.

Cons

• Pay is VERY poor. ProScribe takes advantage of the fact that most scribe employees are students and need clinical experience, so they expend very little pay. I would not recommend this job if you are in need of a job that pays well or aren’t interested in healthcare • Little benefits, and they make you pay for your scrubs • Minimum wage reimbursement for a rather long training period. It’s already bad enough that the pay is $9/hr once you pass training • They absolutely refuse to give pay raises to part-time scribes, even the ones who are hard working and have been working for 2+ years. Despite physicians paying $20/hr for us scribes to be there, Proscribe takes MORE than 50% of that which is absolutely ludicrous.
