Pros
client mix is interesting and the public sector focus is unique. manager compensation - if you can get there - is high, colleagues can become good friends and the location in Boston is great.
Cons
Managers can treat staff like crap and never feel repurcussions - managers run units like small tribes expecting complete loyalty from their staff (rewarding those who best kiss-their-behind and punishing those who dare to disagree) and inter-tribal competition is fierce. Earlier comment (attributed to a principal of the firm) of "we eat our young" is accurate, "people get to pick their teams" can result in qualified & capable staff getting canned (have seen it happen) and the old boys network means that they only women who are near the top act like the men (no work life balance, crude humor, beat up staff, etc)
