Pros

Discounts, the employee discounts and employee store is phenomenal, Work from home, great entry salary

Cons

This was the strangest place. It has an arrogant "Stepford" environment. The ones that stay, look alike, dress alike, talk alike, etc. I should have taken heed to the reviews before working here. The environment is very "clickish". Almost child like. The entry salary can be exceptional but the salary scale moves slowly once you get in, so demand the money up front. Many employees have been with the company for several years and are not open to fresh ideas from new talent. The company continually expresses the desire to change to keep up with technology and the industry but are very candid in telling new people their ideas are not accepted or appreciated because it is not the "QVC way". This message can be heard from top down. The company promotes a 7.5 work day, however you will quickly discover, that is 7.5 hours at work and another 7.5 at home. Hours are grueling and generally unproductive in the end because Sr. Management will typically fall back to what they were doing in the beginning. Building your personal brand and making friends (building relationships) is the key to success in this company. Competeny and tenacity is an after thought. This too is openly communicated. Diversity is a major problem in this company. Minority groups appear to be segregated by skilll set. Most minorities are found in the warehouse, unskilled laborer positions, or IT. There are no minorities in the Sr. Exec ranks. The company employees several women and therefore recognizes that as meeting diversity standards. If you are a person that can go along to get along, keep your ideas to yourself until you have been accepted by the group, and are comfortable conforming with your environment, you will be very successful here.

Pros

Only pros - wfh and you get a nice discount

Cons

Everything else. Management/corporate have unrealistic kpis. You can only use the rr during your SCHEDULED break. You have to offer a sale to EVERY CALLER even if they are already upset. You can NOT hang up even if the customer is screaming/offending you. My manager once said I should’ve been more patient. Mind you the customer was already using foul language and belittling me. I POLITELY asked the customer to please refrain from using that kind of language. It continued and I told her I would have to release the call. Also you stop getting a raise after 2 years. You cap at $17/hr.
