Pros
Plenty of opportunity to get in and advance skills. Starting as a part-time Production Coordinator and moving up to an Associate Producer within a Year is possible. It's a fantastic first or second job if you're trying to get into the industry. If you work hard and ask for more training/opportunity, people will help you. Also most of the teams/people that work with the Live Show team are awesome.
Cons
Not creatively fulfilling. From a TV Production standpoint, it's very clinical. Once you master what you do, it's easy to get tired of the repetition. A lot of creative decision-making is limited and made by teams who are not regularly in the studio, and thus it's hard to make meaningful change. New initiatives come down from corporate teams, and our Live Show Production team has to bend to accommodate things often. Hours are long, and you can end up with a shift that's late at night and during the weekend.
