Pros

When I was hired, I was warned (by senior executives) that this place is not best for everyone. And I sort of agree with that. Need water cooler conversations? Like working in a cubicle?Enjoy being a cog in the machine? Need to punch 9-5 and work a meaningless job? If any of those apply, this place is not a good fit. If, however, to truly love what you do, want to be a part of the change in your company, enjoy working with talented people who largely care about what they are doing and how they are doing it then QLess is a great place to work. It's almost like being an entrepreneur, without all the risks. Your talents and experience are valued and you have the ability to make changes to processes in order to better the process or company. Senior management and executives listen to the team and take action. Health benefits are great. Need a day off? No sweat. No one is going to hassle you because you have to pick your kids up at 3 after school - just make sure you are contributing your hours in a schedule that fits your objectives. Like to travel? So long as you are getting your work done, you can work from Fiji, if you like.

Cons

It's not all roses. We have had some turn over of long-term people in the past year (2016), and last summer was particularly turbulent. There were some white knuckle moments for all employees and some of our customers felt the effects as well. But we've hired in great talent, are changing our process and moving our platform forward to a robust, scalable one. There are some "sour apples", as there are in every company, and you do need to stay pretty connected via Skype or HipChat to your peers so that you are aware of the dynamic nature of this nimble company. We tend to go through cycles with high visibility from executive team on the direction of the company to lower visibility periods (maintenance cycles, I call them). Depending on where you are, this can seem frustrating, but it's a normal cycle of things. I think high-strung people may have a harder time than laid back types. The company is VERY metric based. Decisions from the top are made this way, and your actions are (should be) very based in metrics - what's going to have the biggest impact, how much cost benefit do the hours you spend on a task, etc have - that sort of thing. That said, there is a ton of help for you to succeed at QLess. Mistakes are learning opportunities (unless you can't learn from them), and there is a wealth of experience to help.

Pros

New leadership in place has really transformed QLess. The corporate politics that once used to exist are no longer a thing. Great place to work if you want to really test your skills in a not so start up, start up environment.

Cons

Because of the change in leadership, we are currently in a rebuilding status. I believe needing patience here is a must until all things have been fortified

Pros

Talented employees have come and go and I wish the new ones would stay. If leadership would change how they lead and manage the people, their attitude, there could be hope that the situation here would get better for the employees.

Cons

The leaders of this company have made poor decisions again and again like they never learned from past mistakes at all! They are also too arrogant to admit their mistakes, accept employees opinions and suggestions, so they have to avoid everything we had to say! They don’t treat us like we’re professionals, but like children that constantly need to monitor and control!! And that lead to employees suffocating and becoming miserable! It’s a toxic workplace! Good and talented employees come and go as quick as they joined the company! Management knows what the real problem here is but they can’t accept that their attitude is the problem! They allow people to leave and the employee turnover increasing! They kept insisting that’s it’s us who aren’t performing and doing our jobs hence the low pay and terrible benefits!
