First of all, we have never had a Sales Director in Pasadena, and every Sales Director who has ever worked here for over a year is still with us with a single exception a long time ago and far from California (termination for lack of performance), so this review is false.
Second, the content of the review is also patently false:
A. We never laid off 50% of the company --or anything even close.
B. Turnover is well below industry standards, and below Apple's, Google's and Amazon's, to name three great companies with published stats. We lose less than 6% of our employees to resignations annually, which means the average tenure of the Liberators (our employees) is over 16 years. That's more than 90% better than the national average.
C. There is certainly training of our new employees (two of them are sitting in training as I write), but it is true that this is a place where you are expected to start swimming pretty quickly, so if you want to be hand-held, QLess may not be the place for you.
Third, we don't really sell people on jobs here; we are extremely selective and only want self-motivated people who really want us to achieve our vision of a world without lines and our mission of extending enjoyable life. For some positions, we are more selective than Harvard. So chances are if you need to be sold, you don't belong here.
Finally, note that companies --including QLess-- seldom let go salespeople who are selling enough, as they make money for the company. So it looks like this was a mutually bad fit.
The one truth in this review is the note about the CEO: I am indeed terrible. Terrible at getting anything productive from anonymous criticism as vague as the above --although I do love constructive criticism when it is specific and actionable.
In sum, I'd encourage readers to speak with the Liberators --actual employees who made the cut and are in a job here, rather than reading the reviews of those who didn't and aren't.
The facts speak for themselves:
1. Over 12 years of uninterrupted growth
2. Crowned the Best Small Computer Services Company in America for the last six consecutive years at the American Business Awards
3. Crowned the Best Small Computer Services Company in the world for the third time at the last edition of the International Business Awards
4. Named one of L.A.'s Best Places to Work by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
5. The overwhelming majority of reviews by current employees are good.
Best of luck!
