Pros
+ Company has a rather competitive product within a few key markets. + Small enough company that an individual is able to stand out. + Great people to work with for the most part. + Flat management, very little micromanagement.
Cons
- Product management has firm roadmap, they are chasing the money of a handful of customers instead of guiding the evolution of the product in a way that can attract the most customers. - Too much of a rush during end of quarter to help 'close deals' by rushing troubleshooting or internal company processes. - Engineering is misguided in some things, typical developer mindset. The code works in a lab, but has issues when it meets the real world. - No idea what my career path is. The lack of traditional management is confusing and can leave you wondering where you're going to go.
