Pros

Nice to work with people my age every day. Pretty good pay. Easy to pick location. The Senior VPs I’ve met seem very nice. Company seems to be trying to grow healthily.

Cons

A lot of work to do. Fast pass. Very results driven which doesn’t leave room for opinions or personal concerns. Managers are always on the pursuit, ready to point out your every mistake and make you scared for your job. Bad communication and a lot of enter-office politics.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
