Pros

Pay is great. They typically offer working from home (when working at corporate office). The company is finally moving in the right direction and has a strong pipeline of new customers.

Cons

If you don't know or understand health care in depth it will be hard to advance. Regardless of how hard you work and value you add to the company you may not get recognition which can be frustrating. In regards to upper management, a lot of talk and little action. A lack of a strong processes in development leads to rework and misdirection.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
