Pros

R1 absorbed about 2,300 revenue cycle employee at full pay, mine include. My position has not been negatively impacted, and I enjoy the work I do. I like the people whom were R1 employees prior to me be integrated into R1.

Cons

There is an air that doing things manually is acceptable. There appears to be a hesitance towards leveraging technology for low-level, mundane processes & tasks. I find little transparency into their IT goals and infrastructure.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
