Pros

Flexible schedule (can work from home on some days). Employees are generally quite talented. Great central location.

Cons

Management is insanely rude and doesn't care about employee morale. The department doesn't provide adequate training (it's a sink or swim environment). Quality of services is not a priority- only revenue. Although none of the jobs are commision based, it certainly feels that way as it's such a "productivity" based culture and you must meet daily/weekly quotas or get ready to be threatened with termination. Bonuses and raises are promised for individuals who "put in the extra mile" but that rarely happens. This company/dept has high employee turnover b/c of all the issues and is very unstable. Most employees are jumping ship as soon as they find a better job. The rest who are still here (who haven't landed a another job yet) are getting pretty beat down by all the politics and are extremely unhappy.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
