Pros

Stable, decent ability to manipulate the stock price.

Cons

Micromanagement from CEO on all meaningful decisions, has become toxically political, look at recent EVP departures. Joe has to protect his $150M golden parachute that matures in a few years. All decisions are short-sighted and seem to made in the context of "can R1 get by for a few more years without this investment". No meaningful innovation or competitive expansion going on. Wreaks of impending market implosion.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
