Pros

The company offers reasonable starting wages, decent benefits that include paid short-term disability and paid holidays.

Cons

Management is disengaged from daily operations, often implementing processes that are poorly constructed and even more poorly executed. Ethics are questionable- racism, nepotism and sexism are often demonstrated by management. Employees are unable to affect any change due to personal relationships between management and human resources. Attempts to bring questionable managerial conduct to the attention of corporate management results in a covering-up of misconduct. The environment is very high-stress and the tension is palpable. The turn-over rate is extremely high and staffing levels are never met due to walk-outs.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
