Pros

- Big company so there are numerous teams that you could connect with - People are R1 RCM are good to work with - Room for growth, but you have to stick with it for a while

Cons

- Extremely slow on administrative stuff for their employees. If you have an error on your paper work, if you need information, or if you need something fixed on their side, you will wait for months until that's fixed or until you hear back - Communication sucks between various teams - It's a big company, there are fun teams but those are few. Most of the work is not that enjoyable, and there are no clear duties and responsibilities

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
