Pros
Great training and opportunities for technical talent. Fun work environment. Dress code is: "wear clothes" Lots of opportunities to get involved with the community and do volunteer work-24 hours of paid volunteer time per year. Flexible work schedules depending upon your role. Great technologies-bleeding edge stuff.
Cons
Leadership capability and popularity are often confused leading to middle managers who have been promoted for likeability versus being truly qualified to lead and drive teams. Too much emphasis on one's "personal brand" rather than what talents or skills individuals bring to the table. Generally immature workforce who lack professional experience or whose sole work experience is Rackspace. The company has put some training into place to address this but it feels like "too little too late". Little work/life balance-Answering emails at 3 Am and taking calls while on vacation is applauded and tagged as "fanatical".
