Pros
- Great people to work with in your immediate teams - Good flexibility with working hours - Team Managers are very supportive
Cons
The company has eroded any sort of trust between the Rackers (especially UK/US based) and management. Since 2016 the company has been on a downward spiral - this is when it was took private by Apollo. I'd say over the past 3 years, it has got worst and worst. The company has been focused on off-shoring roles (or as they call it "best shorintg"), By doing this they have lost soo many talented Rackers in the US/UK teams, who have been replaced with teams in Mexico/India - many of which simply do not have the required knowledge or experience. This has meant customers have been receiving poor service, and this is clearly reflected in review sites such as Trustpilot. There is no issue with off-shoring, but for goodness sake, ensure those people are being properly trained. There was an opportunity at one point when they started doing a Technical Onboarding Program to train existing Rackers to become Cloud Engineers/Architects/etc which gave some hope, until it was only released to the US/Mexico teams, after this I have lost all hope. Their benefits package is now poor, as this got eroded over the years. There is also very little hope of progressing into the next level you would expect with your job since no positions seem to be backfilled in the UK or US, and instead almost always ends up going to India. It has been disappointing to say the least, as this genuinely was the best place to work back in the day. Management need to learn that their version of culture (the majority of the leadership team has come from a certain corporate conglomerate) is all smoke screens and is nowhere near to what is used to be, so just stop! My advice is to stay away if you have experience.
