Pros
Radford is a friendly community and people are willing to help each other. New employees can choose between two start dates for orientation that is held every month and you have a "cohort" of people you onboard with. This was really unique and helped give context to the university and our values. Students are generally very respectful and the campus is gorgeous.
Cons
A few months in, it is obvious that there are some turnover issues among newer hires. This is especially true for administrative staff, salaries are lower here than at surrounding universities and rather stagnant and there is little room for promotion once you're in a role. The people who are of an older generation and have been working here forever don't seem to mind as much but for everyone else it does feels like the clock is ticking on your time here.
