Pros
Junior staff is very hard working and dedicated to the mission despite lack of advancement opportunities.
Cons
1. Don’t work here if you are a woman, as sexual harassment is tolerated. HR is ill-equipped and/or unwilling to address employee rights in a meaningful way, resulting in constant turnover. 2. Don’t expect any advancement as a young person. You will learn what you possibly can in a year and realize that the organization protects only senior authority. So a real resume builder in that sense. Enjoy your cost-of-living raise. 3. Don’t expect your voice to be heard as someone under the management level - RA is set in stone about polices and procedures on how to run it which only benefits those above the manager level. 4. Get a manager that favors you! As those who don’t get favored are thrown under the bus, and again, leave in under a year. 5. Does not care about the environment as much as you think it does. RA flies dozens of employees around the world every month and does not track its carbon footprint - although it considers itself an organization that is fighting climate change. It also partners and accepts donations from organizations with troublesome environmental records.
