Pros

-Nice campus -Great cafeteria -Cool game room -Gym on-site

Cons

-Extremely cliquey and immature middle management. If you went to highschool with your manager your job is pretty much set. - You do not need a college degree to work here. Most employees and managers do not have one and have only worked menial jobs prior. Hiring non degreed workers allows Realpage to keep the pay scale very low in comparison to other Tech companies. - You are constantly compared to your fellow co workers and your progress is always being tracked. Find a way to make yourself indispensable and suck up to everyone above you and you will be fine. -RP does not drug test. Their workforce accurately reflects that. - Overall sense of unease, a lot of firing goes on, and managers with no interpersonal skills. -Fake importance on employee culture. RealPage will NEVER have a real Tech company culture.

Thank you for your post and pointing out the facilities are a plus. I've studied our implementation teams for over 8 years from my observations there are some really capable people working in these functions. You're painting a picture of a drug culture, menial skills and fake culture. That's very demeaning to those who work hard every day to serve our customers and its just not a true statement. Some of the highest engagement scores in the company are coming out of the implementation areas and for good reasons. The middle managers have gone through professional training called " Lead to Exceed". Do they stay on top of things, of course they do, as these roles have a sequence of activities associated with them. Having said all of that we wish you well with your future endeavors. Sincerely, Kurt Twining

Pros

Good engineering tooling. Talented engineers and teammates. Flexible remote work.

Cons

I ran one of RealPage's larger engineering product teams for three years, hiring and developing more than half of the engineering managers and engineers on my organization. I believed I was building something that mattered. Instead of promoting the person already doing the work, leadership hired a lateral engineering manager alongside me. Over time, responsibility stayed with me while authority and support shifted elsewhere. I became the person expected to absorb every problem. My first manager used me to fill every gap instead of developing me. I was expected to handle support, incident response, production releases, coding, architecture, project management, and people management—all at the same time. My second manager sidelined me, criticized me, and focused on replacing me instead of developing me. I was once told I was "lucky to be useful, or I wouldn't still be here." That statement summed up the culture. Leadership expected constant availability while frequently being unavailable themselves. When leadership was out, I was expected to cover. I spent over a year supporting both U.S. and India time zones, making true time off nearly impossible. RealPage has incredibly talented people, but talented employees cannot overcome a culture where managers are consumed instead of developed. I loved building teams. I just wish the company had valued the people who built them.
