Pros

Region Ten as an agency has a negative reputation that they do nothing to correct. Employees are overworked and underpaid. The agency changed its insurance policy, which has led to a constant struggle to get medical assistance. As a member of the prevention team, I was given far too much work to accomplish for an entry-level position that only pays $40,000 annually. I was bullied by management, and made to feel like a complete failure daily. Management has unclear expectations and lacks the communication skills and personality to convey their needs. As the only person in the agency with marketing experience, I was looked at as a sort of savior for all of the issues the agency "marketing" has. There is no marketing structure, and the only folks Region Ten cares to "market" to are professionals, completely miss the mark when it comes to gaining consumer support. Their "marketing" consists of the agency facilities dog, and any engagement issues were squarely placed on me. The agency uses its social media platforms because they have them. They have no concept of why they are using them, who they want to target, etc. The culture of the prevention team is horrible. Marketing is treated as something to be afraid of, and so I was constantly made to feel like an outsider. Members of the team like to call it a "dream team," however, it is more like a "nightmare team." I would not recommend this position or agency. Region Ten and Prevention have a lot of work to do to make things better, and I don't see them putting in the necessary effort to do it. They need a skilled team of marketers, however, if they get one, their efforts will continue to be lackluster and pointless. This is a position that had I had a second chance I would never have taken. If you enjoy being bullied, constantly stressed, and talked down to, then this is a position for you. I wouldn't wish this position on my worst enemy.

Cons

The agency is just full of cons. Little pay for employees expected to move mountains, insufficient medical benefits where people are being forced to choose to get medication or forgo it. In prevention, the cons are poor management, a lackluster team, no marketing skill/knowledge what so ever, impatience, and so much more.
