Little time to take vacation, no flexibility for parents, or sandwich generation, rigid hour structures, workaholic culture, poor work-life balance culture, micromanagement of employees. Part-timers are paid poorly and with no benefits so turnover is high. Part-time teacher shortages are widespread and detrimental to the program.

Great remote job where you pick your hours, grade papers, and interact with students. My management has been great and supportive.

Cons

Requires self discipline so not to get a bottleneck of papers and it can get a little mundane grading the same papers for the same classes. This is a temporary job that is not guaranteed.
