Pros

- Great Culture - Great WLB - Above market-rate SWE pay

Cons

- Experience will vary across teams. Some are very organized and utilize industry-standard tools and methodologies (Jira/Github, Agile, etc., proper management structure, etc.). Other teams (exception moreso than the rule) are very small with flat hierarchies, the latter tending towards poor organization and lack of effective management and leadership.

Pros

Good benefits keep people around, many of the folks below the useless L2 middle management layer (though neutered) are very smart and driven, often more qualified than their executive counterparts.

Cons

Nepotism is causing Ripple to fumble the biggest bag in history. The “friends of Brad” or “FOBs” as they’re referred to by the general employee population, need to go, and be replaced with competent subject matter experts in their respective fields. Everybody has the power to say no, nobody has the power to say yes. You will likely have more experience in your field than your executive business leader.
