Pros

I loved helping others. CBT and DBT skills are fascinating and I appreciated the training and experience. Great co-workers.

Cons

Pay is poor considering the responsibility and importance of the position. Management needs to pay attention, collaborate with RC staff as they know what the needs of the residents are much more than management does and reward dedicated workers with advancement, not play favorites.

Pros

The benefits are fine enough and the recourses and tools for the position is adequate

Cons

My coworker and I were subjected to absurd levels of harassment and abuse predicated by the other horticulturist on staff. Screaming, yelling, using derogatory and pejorative language to describe myself, other staff, and patients, the coworker would bully, insult, and intimidate others as they went about the job. In efforts to coordinate work or avoid instances of harassments, schedules and work plans were changed to no avail. Wantonly destroying property, using tools unsafely (almost loosing my fingers and hand), leaving implements out and unguarded for anyone to take, the coworker made this horticultural position impossible to manage and execute. They would just yell and insult us constantly and then remind us that the last people to try and address these same issues with staff or hr were fired.
