Pros

Always get full forty hours and opportunity for overtime during high patient counts. Full benefits begin to kick in after the first 3 months.

Cons

Many departments are being lead by sub-contracts that make it hard to work for two masters. There is a movement towards more work than you will be given time for.

Pros

Great Co-Workers, great leadership, and I really enjoy the work culture.

Cons

12 hour shifts are hard but I get my steps in.

Pros

Staff typically works well together despite the cons. You’re collectively keeping your head above water to survive.

Cons

Pay, staffing are garbage. Other systems pay considerably more. Think of private equity firms without the inevitable bankruptcy. Focus is on profits, not staff or patients. ER is ran on a skeleton crew with no incentive to pickup extra shifts. Lots of pressure to “help the team” which is code for work harder for less.
