Pros

Most of the patients are fantastic and absolutely appreciative of the care you’re giving them. My passion was 100% for them.

Cons

Horrible management. No communication on areas to improve until they decide to hand out disciplinary measures. Pay is laughable. Benefits are eh. 401k matching this year was changed to end of year matching, so if you leave prior to the end of the year, they get to skip out on matching. Staff that are willing to help out and be a team player terminated. Horribly understaffed. Frequently pushed to 6-7:1 patient.

Great Co-Workers, great leadership, and I really enjoy the work culture.

Cons

12 hour shifts are hard but I get my steps in.

Pros

Staff typically works well together despite the cons. You’re collectively keeping your head above water to survive.

Cons

Pay, staffing are garbage. Other systems pay considerably more. Think of private equity firms without the inevitable bankruptcy. Focus is on profits, not staff or patients. ER is ran on a skeleton crew with no incentive to pickup extra shifts. Lots of pressure to “help the team” which is code for work harder for less.
