Pros

The patients and the other staff were a joy to be around

Cons

Low pay and understaffed. For the majority of the time I worked at the hospital. I worked almost all my shifts by myself. No room for growth, only opportunity for growth was a lead position and those were already pre determined on who was going to get it. They just post it up on sites to make it look legit. Major favoritism and even if you show up on time and you actually do your job and not just sit around, management will only talk to you when they have something to tell at you for. Management needs to be fixed, it saddens me that I put a year of my time here and upper management couldn't even say goodbye or best of luck to me on my last day but instead gossiped to the other employees about me leaving.

Pros

Staff typically works well together despite the cons. You’re collectively keeping your head above water to survive.

Cons

Pay, staffing are garbage. Other systems pay considerably more. Think of private equity firms without the inevitable bankruptcy. Focus is on profits, not staff or patients. ER is ran on a skeleton crew with no incentive to pickup extra shifts. Lots of pressure to “help the team” which is code for work harder for less.
