Pros

Good place to start to gain experience. Managers generally easy to work with. Coworkers typically supportive and helpful.

Cons

Low pay, they constantly take away perks and benefits without telling anyone, often short staffed, high turn over rate, you have to train people but don't get paid extra unless you take a preceptor class (which they don't tell you about. I heard from a co-worker), turn over is so high that PCT's right out of orientation start training people.

Pros

Staff typically works well together despite the cons. You’re collectively keeping your head above water to survive.

Cons

Pay, staffing are garbage. Other systems pay considerably more. Think of private equity firms without the inevitable bankruptcy. Focus is on profits, not staff or patients. ER is ran on a skeleton crew with no incentive to pickup extra shifts. Lots of pressure to “help the team” which is code for work harder for less.
