Pros

Great management (Summer U.) Some team players (some not just like with any job) Free meals. Managers attempt to boost morale when they notice things are off.

Cons

Some things can make you raise an eyebrow. Like physicians who push to complete procedures on individuals who are ill for elective procedures instead of turning them away. Some staff have been here awhile and feel as if they are above reproach.

Pros

Staff typically works well together despite the cons. You’re collectively keeping your head above water to survive.

Cons

Pay, staffing are garbage. Other systems pay considerably more. Think of private equity firms without the inevitable bankruptcy. Focus is on profits, not staff or patients. ER is ran on a skeleton crew with no incentive to pickup extra shifts. Lots of pressure to “help the team” which is code for work harder for less.
