Pros

Round rock medical center is a wonderful place to work. The managers really get to know their employees and that includes upper management, they are always rounding and listening to our input.

Cons

Floating, I absolutely hate to float. They do need to staff PCTs better. I am hoping with the new pay increase the retention will be better.

Staff typically works well together despite the cons. You’re collectively keeping your head above water to survive.

Cons

Pay, staffing are garbage. Other systems pay considerably more. Think of private equity firms without the inevitable bankruptcy. Focus is on profits, not staff or patients. ER is ran on a skeleton crew with no incentive to pickup extra shifts. Lots of pressure to “help the team” which is code for work harder for less.
