Pros

Tons of patient contact hours. and they hire right out of school. Get your experience and leave them HIGH AND DRY.

Cons

Because i'm young i overheard the crew chiefs laughing saying they cant wait to make me quit. on multiple occasions i over heard crew chiefs say something about trying to make me quit. out of the 5 crew chiefs one them was a decent human being Madison. extremely low pay. I happily left to work as a higher paid lifeguard. and now work in a trauma 1 ED

Pros

Straightforward with their expectations of you leading up and going into the academy.

Cons

There is no room for error. If you’re not in good physical condition and think you’ll improve while in the academy you’re wrong. You need to already be in good shape or they will run you ragged for it. It’s either you’re ready or you’re not and if you’re not then they will make it as miserable as possible to test you and either you quit or they fire you.
