Pros

you work on your own. you get mileage. 13 per hour is not bad starting pay for Southern IL. You learn how to apply soft skills when negotiating.

Cons

Peer Trainers teach you the basic skills a merchandiser needs. Your guidance mostly from conference calls based on client needs. Absolutely no over time for hourly workers. This company pushes billable clients products so you are suppose to ask department managers to buy the same pallets etc, every store call. This gets old fast. if you have to do two stores in one day better hope that one is a breeze. Company constantly over promises their retail clients in Walmart. Imagine trying to pack out 8 cases of Hefty trash bags every day, yet that is one of their goals. this company has numerous other goals that are unattainable. This company contentiously drops one off task into your regular schedule expecting them to be completed no matter what and if they aren't then your store will be an exception and you will be sent back until you are no longer an exception. their is no upward mobility in most merchandising companies so you will be stuck at the lowest rung of the ladder until someone quits or just disappears. no pay raises whatsoever.

Pros

Weekends off, you can take off anytime you want. You just need to let them know before the schedule is made.

Cons

Don't use the open door policy or contact h.r. They will retaliate and schedule you off more then the other members on the team. Give you easy projects so you only get 5 hours or less a day. I guess they don't know that you can pull up your tax information to prove how much your hours have been cut. Seniority means nothing. The schedule usually comes out just a few days before the new wave. Your email will be filled with diversity and inclusion emails.
