Pros

Benefits for full time are good. The usual you would expect, holidays, pto, sick leave, decent salary for stocking shelves. You get per diem and paid for travel time at your hourly rate. You also get perks when you travel. Job is stocking shelves you just built for HEB. Easy work. eight hour days that are 8 hours.

Cons

You have to drive alone to every HEB. Normally, thats not a problem. But if you live in Dallas and they want you to be in Corpus christi thats a 400+ mile drive one way. So either you are paying for southwest plane rides and rental cars, or you are tearing up your car. So the job title should be HEB Travelling Retail Merchandiser, with a sub heading of you could work in any active HEB in the state from Brownsville to Laredo, Dallas to Waco. The only good news is there are no current HEBs in Amarillo or El Paso. If there were you most likely get scheduled to work at those too.

Pros

• You work Mon-Thurs. Weekends are always free • You’re entitled to two breaks, a 30 minute unpaid break and a 15 minute paid break.

Cons

• This job will destroy your body. Lifting, kneeling, squatting all day for minimum wage is not sustainable. Nobody should have to work so hard for breadcrumbs in return. • Management will try to rush you to get the project done, which increases your risk of injury and products falling/breaking open • The hours are vary wildly depending on the project assigned. Sometimes you work 4-5 hours, sometimes closer to 9-10. Don’t bother making an appointment on your work day, because you probably won’t make it • Gas reimbursement is a joke, about a couple of dollars, and will not cover the full expense of your travel • Step stools can be hard to come by. You may have to stand on a milk crate. Cross your fingers that it doesn’t break
