They treat RNs as disposable, replaceable, huge turnover rate - Registered Nurse, BSN SEV Laser Aesthetics Employee Review

Pros

Best part: autonomy. Once trained and comfortable, you basically show up, clock in, check out your schedule for the day, and then it is just you, calling the clients into your office, asking some questions before getting started then just treat them (personally I didn’t know I would be so good with clients. I love getting to know people, seeing them come back, I have actually gotten pretty close with clients over time. It helps if you are good with people because they all know that if they escalate ANY complaint to upper management, they will get some type of discount/free service/etc, once someone got a free session because she said she heard me making conversation with the previous client not related to laser treatment. I am not exaggerating. She got like $400 of services free even though the customer rep said I had zero fault. People can be extremely awesome and you can discover they are going through something similar that you are, you bond, it’s really cool. Or…. They will find any reason to make the nurse get potentially really hurt , written up etc when in reality they just want a discount) some find it very intense keeping up with the back to back, nonstop including grace periods for late clients that you have to figure out, but once youve got the pace down, it’s just you.

Cons

Upper management is… many things. One is that it’s painfully obvious that you become a remote, high up position through family or some connection in a community. If you aren’t in that particular community, it won’t happen. Two: ZERO and I have worked ten years in hospitals, outpatient you name it. SEV offers absolutely zero incentives. No annual pay increase (maybe because it’s so rare?) no holiday pay, and the company is christian. Closed for Good Friday, no pay. Open Christmas Eve. Closed Sundays (love that), No pto. Zero. Minimum legal requirement sick pay (3 days as of 2024 I believe), but base pay is $38 starting, after 90 days its $40. New grad or vereran nurse, $40, we literally rely solely on tips. Tips can vary depending on even what room you’re assigned to. Groupon rooms are prepaid clients who got a massive discount. Average 0-$3 tip per person there. However, Ive had $400 days off tips alone. Third and by far the most offensive con: they decided to change business hours November 23. Some had already been there a year or close. We went from 9;45 am-7-7:30 pm, so 3-4 shifts/week full time. Guaranteed minimum one hour overtime DAILY. Now we are 7:45 am-4-4:15 pm (day shift, 8 hours) or 4-8:30-9 pm (depending on clients, part time and 5 hours MAX (rare). Saturdays became 7:45-6:30 so i decided better always work Saturdays because i wont take a huge hit losing overtime. Nope! In a week Saturdays go back to original hours. Not to mention nobody asked, checked in or really evaluated the massive changes. Its sow that in general income for all of us is down by 33% average. Pretty big. Everyone hates it, some clients like the later options for after work, but nurses are miserable and hurting financially. We petitioned for a raise, 14 nurses signed. Inflation. No overtime. Swift no for that answer. They hire and are training new people almost weekly. It must cost a FORTUNE. Nobody ever asks why turnover is so insane. They don’t care.

Pros

I work as a Benefits Advisor and have a good experience overall. It can definitely get busy, but I learn a lot and gain experience that I know will help me in future HR roles. The team is friendly, and people are usually willing to answer questions or help when needed. The company is growing quickly, which keeps things interesting, but it also means there’s a lot going on at times. If you’re someone who likes staying busy and doesn’t mind juggling different tasks, you’ll probably do well here. Like any growing company, there are times when the workload feels like a lot, especially during busy seasons. Having a little more support on the team would make a big difference, but overall I enjoy my time here and appreciate everything I learn.

Cons

● Priorities can change throughout the day ● More staffing would help as the company continues to grow
