Pros

Good, hardworking employees; great members; great content and resources

Cons

CEO/JCT; not walking the talk; not caring about employee wellbeing; toxic culture I worked for SHRM for several years and I honestly thought I would be there even longer. It used to be such a great place to work...work/life balance was a thing, employees were trusted to do their jobs, leadership cared about our wellbeing, and it was a well-oiled machine! I did not dread going to work everyday and I was proud to tell people I worked there. Over the past few years (since Johnny became CEO) it has become more and more toxic. Actually, SHRM is beyond toxic and a fear of losing your job is the norm. It is all about Johnny. What Johnny wants, Johnny gets. Expert in your field? Doesn't matter. Do what Johnny wants. Do not feel comfortable going into the office during a pandemic when the CDC recommends that people telework if they can (especially when you can do your job from home)? Oh well, Johnny wants an in-office culture! If you are thinking about working at SHRM, I highly recommend you wait until there is a new CEO. I really hope that Johnny moves on soon so SHRM can go back to being a great place to work.

Pros

They didn't end up have Elon speak in the end.

Cons

Out of touch CEO invited Elon Musk to speak at SHRM conference while thousands of federal workers were getting DOGEd. Need I say more?
