Cons
Current CEO and his team dissembled the workforce and culture piece by piece. He installed both enforcers and sycophants throughout the organization and thoroughly remade the culture. Reports from current employees indicate an atmosphere of fear and distrust. The senior team is together on a locked off floor...only accessible to staff with an escort. The board has been made aware of many specific incidents but so far, takes no action. Sad to see a once proud, mission oriented organization fall apart. If you are considering a job at SHRM, do your research and find firmer employees. I was one of many who left on my terms for a better position but share the disappointment of the many who were let go in mass layoffs. The CEO is smart and charismatic and also a narcissist, misogynist and a trump supporter. I was once proud to work at SHRM, now it just makes me sad...for my friends still there, for the profession and the many wonderful HRProfessionals
