Pros

I joined the company after graduating from a SCM program to gather broad experience as a front line leader before transition into analytic work. This program provided just that. WIDE exposure to many departments in different cities. Great for perspective on office culture, labor force, and politics. Pay was slightly below some competitors in the same space, but benefits and vacation were good and the training program was closer to that of a large company like Pepsi or Unilever that are know as quality training environments for new grads while still maintaining a small company feel. Weathered 2008 with no layoffs. Attainable bonus program if not a joke bonus program.

Cons

Open ended relocation requirements. You'll be asked to provide preferences but it may not work out. This wasn't a big deal to me but beware if you are picky. The transportation department at the time was far inferior to warehouse, contract packaging, and retail/consumer distribution. Likely just making due to the current driver climate and absurd rates in the overall industry.

Pros

Decent promotion opportunities if we're looking for advancement.

Cons

No work life balance. Company values are just words they say but do not follow. All leadership members struggle to be supportive. "Do whatever it takes" is such a toxic motto that is used to force you into working long hours and weekends. Timelines are unrealistic given the lack of support.
