Pros

Annual merit increases, acceptable work-life balance, technologically advanced charting system developments, good retirement plan, CME stipend is above average for the area.

Cons

Uncertainty about other potential benefit changes moving forward with BJC takeover. Major holidays, incidental sick days now come out of vacation time, which cuts down on overall days off in the year and will likely encourage more people to come to work when ill to maintain their vacation time. It is common to add additional duties and requirements from when hired without compensation adjustments, and there is little recourse as they do not offer detailed contracts to APPs.

Pros

you can get your MA for free

Cons

Low pay, no sick time, benefits aren’t great, managers will gaslight you into thinking whatever is in their benefit, stressful, seeing unlimited amounts of patients you have to see, managers don’t care if you can’t afford cost of living or anyone in the system. They think $22 is more than enough even when working for 8 years and being loyal. When you advocate for a better pay they tell you that you are basically making what someone would in 15+ years of service. They don’t do increases on cost of living. Merit raises are .40-.60 cents for most of front desk and MA no matter how hard you work.
