Pros

Ability to do learn many things within the club. There are so many opportunities to get your foot in the door of a new career. Even if you are only using the job for school, there are different things to do so you are not bored. Examples, Photo Lab. You can learn to develop one hour pictrues, handle photo chemicals, calibrate printers, etc... Connection Center: You can learn about multiple carriers, activate phones, handle customer issues regarding cell carriers. Optical: become a liscensed optician, learn how to adjust, measure, fit glasses and contacts. Work in a Doctors office doing prescreenings. Learn all the different types of lens being made and materials. Also, the multiplude of contacts. Bakery: learn how to mass produce baked goods and decorate cakes. Mixing batter, storing large amounts of goods. It's a great way to see if being a baker is for you. Jewelery: Here you get to learn about gems, quality of stones and how to sell them. You also do special orders, so you create contacts in the field. You will learn how to inspect rings, earrings when they arrive to determine if they are of the quality that the customer deserves. Meat: Learn cuts of meat, how to trim fat, and such. Handle different kinds of meat, and how to process the cuts safely. Also, follow USDA guidelines on handling recalls. Which happens. Pharmacy: This area allows you to learn how to fill prescrips, handle confidential information, and work on understanding federal law regarding medications. All that and all the normal retail opportunities is why I would recommend Sams Club.

Cons

My biggeast gripe about Sam's Club is the raise system. You ONLY get one raise per year and that is on your anniversary. It's either a 0 cent raise, 40 cent, or 60 cent. If you do not move to different areas with higher pay scales, this simply does not inspire one to stay with the company for long periods of time.

Pros

The pay is good and so are the benefits.

Cons

This is the worst job I have ever had. I made it 3 weeks before leaving and never coming back. They had me working 12 hour shifts when I was scheduled for 8 but couldn’t leave because I wasn’t finished with the large workload they piled on me. There was absolutely no teamwork, our manager just abandoned us so they could go hang out with their friends. There was no organization, no structure. 100% sure my manager never even knew my name. They had us breaking down pallets just to restack them. There are no consequences for management at all, they can basically do whatever they want and nobody is gonna do anything to stop it. If they're short they throw you into different departments with no training.
