Despite many good people working throughout the organization, senior leadership tends to be ineffective at best, at worst erratic and irrational. Many employees and former employees are afraid to speak out, fearing church and social exile in this small mountain town. The feeling of "making a difference" at the outset can quickly turn to survival in the crossfires of the executives jockeying for power.
