Pros

Financially stable company. Beautiful new building. 1/2 days friday's ( although you still work a full 40 hour week) Employee engagement. Employee stock ownership program (there are some negatives to this as well)

Cons

too much emphasis on work/life balance. Its simply not true. You are still working your standard 40 hour week, you are just working an extra 45 minutes during the week to make up for the time off on fridays afternoons. Very high deductible health insurance with no better options. You are not eligible for the ESOP (employee stock ownership program) until 3 years after your start date. You do have an option to contribute to a 401K, however they do not match contributions or anything. Lastly, if you test positive for COVID, you have to take your own vacation time. They do not take advantage of the Families First Coronavirus Response act where they would be reimbursed for the salary paid via tax credits. I suspect they ARE take advantage of this credit but not forwarding it on to the employee.

Thank you for your feedback. While there were a number of benefits the CARES Act allowed in support of pandemic relief, we did offer those that we qualified for, including FSA carryover relief, 100% coverage of telemedicine and COVID treatment. Sammons Financial Group was fortunate in that we did not need to suspend operations or experience a significant decline in gross receipts during this time period. For this reason, we were not an eligible employer for the Employee Retention Credit. Our Short-Term Disability benefit which provides salary replacement at 100% and FMLA job protection benefits were provided, as applicable, for employees who required extended leave due to a COVID diagnosis. Aside from the enhancements offered under the CARES Act, Sammons Financial Group has a comprehensive benefits package, details to which can be viewed on the Benefits tab of our Glassdoor page... https://www.glassdoor.com/Benefits/Sammons-Financial-Group-Companies-US-Benefits-EI_IE19642.0,33_IL.34,36_IN1.htm

Pros

SFG has changed over the years but definitely for the better. I trust leadership and enjoy everyday working for this amazing company. There is of course office politics which you’ll have everywhere but if you keep doing what you’re supposed to be doing then you’ll have no issues. ESOP, early out on Fridays, culture, flexible schedules, system enhancements including productivity improvements and genuine conversations with people you work with are some of the top favorites on my list. Plenty of SFG employees have left over the years due to their own personal lives/needs but a lot of them end up coming back for plenty of reasons but in reality it’s because we are happy working here.

Cons

None that comes to mind.
