Pros

Great year end gifts and good bonuses.

Cons

Starting with my job interview, the job description was misleading and the true job duties were not adequately described. I would not have taken the position had I known what the real responsibilities were. Once I was hired, I discovered that management hires people who are over-qualified and doesn't make use of their skills/experience. There is also very little communication from management and limited on the job training. You are expected to figure things out for yourself which is extremely frustrating, inefficient and counter-productive. Asking for help is discouraged. Their home-grown systems are very user-unfriendly, inefficient, and error-prone resulting in much frustration and time wasted. Time-off is granted begrudgingly, and you are expected to take your work with you. The Great Workplace initiative is mostly window-dressing and has done little to improve the corporate culture. The culture is still very regimented and oppressive. Management, which is mostly Korean, shows little respect for their employees, often publicly humiliating you in front of your coworkers. Management often plays favorites, not appreciating and making use of individuals' unique talents. Opportunities for advancement are limited to Koreans unless you are in sales and marketing, which is disheartening and discouraging for all other employees.

Pros

Met very smart, talented colleagues - enjoyed working with some of the people on the team, and learned many applicable, valuable technical skills. Some projects provide opportunities to learn new skills and can launch interesting products. The food is good.

Cons

All the previous reviews about the culture are 100% accurate. Overall very poor management and direction from the upper level, which trickles down into the team. Office politics and conflicting direction from HQ, too many meetings just to prove the work is being done, resulting in little to no trust in the US team - constant surveillance, questioning, and general misalignment of objectives. Company culture and team morale is overall quite low, and little recognition and appreciation from management for hardworking teams on the working levels. Also, it doesn’t seem like there is much room to grow, just more work added with little promotional opportunities. ALSO: RTO 5 days in office was unreasonable, had no justification, with no productivity data to show reasoning - seemed to be a rash decision from the HQ side as a form of control and to push people into soft layoffs (Their "Q&A" sessions are just beating around the bush about this specific reasoning).
