Pros

Work-life balance, generous PTO, generous sick leave

Cons

Salary increases not keeping pace with cost of living. Despite record growth and many acquisitions, ops is a complete mess. There's no quality support at my site in North America and I've heard through the grapevine that there's effectively no quality department in North America. Getting stuff produced is a bureaucratic shambles. Getting stuff prototyped is a disaster. The hiring freeze doesn't help. Can't hire anyone now, didn't hire anyone then, and won't reassign anyone to actually put new products on the market. This isn't optimizing or stream-lining anything. It's just exacerbating the passive aggressive finger-pointing culture me and my entire team have been battling with since Sartorius acquired us >5 years ago.

Dear colleague, thank you for taking the time to share your views here. We would like to briefly comment on the place we are in as a company right now and to put some of your descriptions into perspective. Sartorius has experienced extraordinary growth over the last three years and now entered a phase of normalization. We understand this period as an opportunity to consolidate processes, to involve the thousands of new colleagues, who have joined in the last two years, even more intensively and to intensify the integration of the acquired companies. This should ultimately lead to better processes and thus impact some of your observations positively. As to your thoughts on remuneration: Sartorius' compensation system strives to provide competitive and fair pay to all employees. If you feel that it is not appropriate regarding the local realities, please consult with your manager and the HR team. Best regards Sartorius Corporate Communications

Pros

Strong technical expertise within the organization. Exposure to a broad range of customers and applications.

Cons

My experience at this company was disappointing due to a lack of transparency, consistency, and fairness in enforcement of company policy. Compensation for employees in the same or similar roles varied significantly, with decisions often appearing to be based on individual manager discretion rather than clear, objective criteria. I also observed what appeared to be gender bias in pay decisions. Additionally, there were employees who contributed very little while others carried a disproportionate workload. This was extremely demotivating for those who worked hard, as there appeared to be little recognition or reward for taking on additional responsibility and delivering results.
