Only now that I am out, do I realize how toxic and unhealthy the environment was for me. When I first started with STC, almost a decade ago, I always wondered why would anyone leave company with such amazing and rewarding mission, fast forward to now, and the answer is, office politics! STC overall, has number of wonderful people working for them, who mostly represent charitable organizations, such as STC, in a positive light, however, in some departments, you can be Albert Einstein of your profession, but, if you belong to those of protected characteristics, or, even worse, have disability, or are of different nationality, you will get nowhere career wise. From what I could see, STC was fully aware of this, and they are taking steps toward improvement. I hope they will be able to implement system and process, where it will be easy to report unethical behavior right away, and where the culprit can be identified and removed. STC is a company with beautiful mission, and it is my hope that every child they work with, will be provided equal opportunity, regardless of race, nationality, or disability.
