Pros

Opportunity to work within a recognized hospitality portfolio.

Cons

This was an extremely difficult environment to succeed in due to leadership behavior, internal conflict, and a lack of professionalism. Within my first several weeks, I was made aware of ongoing conflict within leadership, including issues involving the Revenue Manager. I was brought into this dynamic early on, which immediately created unnecessary tension and distraction from the role I was hired to perform. Rather than being able to focus on my responsibilities, I found myself navigating unresolved internal issues that predated my arrival. I raised these concerns with HR multiple times and was advised to address them myself. Given the level of dysfunction and existing conflict, this did not feel appropriate and only reinforced the lack of support. There was also a consistent pattern of unprofessional communication within leadership. Employees were spoken about negatively behind their backs, while interactions face-to-face were noticeably different. This created a culture of mistrust and instability. From the beginning, expectations were set at a very high level, including conversations around growth and advancement. However, those expectations were not supported by consistent direction or leadership alignment. Priorities frequently shifted, communication was inconsistent, and I was often put in a position where I had to repeatedly justify my work. Over time, this created an environment where I felt undermined and set up to struggle rather than succeed. The role ultimately became less about performing the job and more about navigating personalities, conflict, and unclear expectations. It was difficult to gain traction or confidence in an environment where the tone was often critical rather than constructive. My position was ultimately eliminated under the explanation of restructuring. The decision was abrupt, without prior indication, and did not align with the messaging or expectations that had been set. The circumstances surrounding the decision raised serious concerns about leadership alignment and decision-making.

Pros

Lots of people to learn from, team members are overall supportive and enjoyable to work with.

Cons

Very meeting heavy - would be a lot more productive if I was not on so many calls. I feel there is room for growth but it’s hard to get answers on what that looks like in the short or long term.
