Pros

Everyone is nice, benefits on par with government

Cons

Government pay scale (non locality), management severely out of touch. Seniority awarded over merit.

We have an Open Door Policy at SSAI and highly encourage employees to come forward with any concerns – especially about management and compensation. We are always open to ideas and feedback that can help us continue to improve, and we do our best to create an environment where every employee feels their opinion is valued. We put a lot of effort into making sure our salaries are competitive, as this is an important part of who we are as a company. We don’t actually use a “government pay scale” – We have our own internal salary grades based on up to date market information on local compensation. We also have a robust Rewards and Recognition Program that rewards employees based on outstanding performance, publication of research, community service, and innovation – just to name a few. We’d love to have the opportunity to discuss your concerns, particularly about employee turnover and why you feel that you are not being fairly compensated. Please feel free to reach out to us in Human Resources at your convenience.

Pros

Good benefits, good pay, great people and coworkers. Working at a small business gives you access to all levels of the organization that you don't get with large businesses. You can just walk into HR or IT and get something done really quickly. The company has been around for over 48 years and has very mature systems. There were many company events which brought the employees together like ice cream socials, karaoke, Pi Day, annual holiday parties and summer picnics.

Cons

There aren't many but maybe the corporate offices could use some updating.

Pros

+ Access to NASA projects + Remote work contracts + Flexible hours + Scrappy C-suite

Cons

+ These folks seem to see staff as cattle with a cost+ bounty over their heads + They put their group managers in uncomfortable interpersonal positions + Company events feel like desperate attempts by the C-suite to check a box and appear like they care.
