Scott Brown Media Response
8yThank you for recognizing our great technicians and their excellent personalities. Our team is the fundamental foundation of Scott Brown Media Group, and we think they make us a fantastic company. Thank you for your comments, I would like to address some of your concerns.
Regarding Pay: We start all employees at a pay directly related to their experience, ability and skill set. We pay all employees above minimum wage. At Scott Brown Media Company we believe we have created an environment to cultivate growth and encourage employees to strive to achieve their own career goals.
Regarding Direct Deposit: We are working on a direct deposit option for the company but has yet to land on the right solution.
Regarding Pay Frequency: In a corporate environment, it is standard practice to pay Semi-Monthly. We subscribe to this pay frequency as most of our employees like that their pay matches their monthly billing cycles like rent, auto, and credit card bills.
Regarding Sales Quotas: In the hospitality industry, every hotel sets sales goals which directly impact their pay. Those goals are also raised year over year as the expectation is always to improve. We work with that same growth model. It is not greedy; it is merely part of the business. You may not be aware that Scott Brown Media Group is one of the few companies who give bonuses to all of the employees in the company. So, not only are salespeople bonused, but salary and hourly technicians are bonused as well. We think that is pretty special.
Regarding Dress: We are a professional company, and thus we dress as professionals. This might be different from other companies, and that's OK. Our dress showcases and helps deliver the message that we are great at what we do. We outline this in our employee handbook.
Regarding Inventory: We agree that our equipment is essential and it can be frustrating when the gear is not put back where it should. We perform almost 100 events per day. That is a lot of equipment to move around and can be challenging. We are always striving to come up with better tracking solutions. We recently rolled out our new inventory tracking system and, since implementation, we have seen an improvement in inventory management.
Regarding training: Twice, every month, we have audio and video training for all employees to take advantage of and grow their knowledge and skill.
Regarding my move to NY: It can be challenging to open a new office and I committed myself to SBMG by moving to New York to build the entire North East region. Since my move, we now service 4 major properties in New York and New Jersey. Our Charlotte market has a great staff who are wonderfully serving our home base. Building new offices might be why SBMG has received the Inc 5000 award for the fastest growing companies in America for 4 years.
